Responsys Interact categorizes bounces based on the codes and error messages the destination server returns to us. Most error codes follow an industry standard however; some smaller ISPs and private domains do not follow this standard. Since some error codes do stray from the industry standard, it is important to note that this document is only to serve as a high level guide for understanding the different bounce categories. For further investigation and better clarity around a specific error code or bounce category, it is best to seek out the assistance of a deliverability specialist.
