Allocation Rules Are Not Working When They Are Combined Within The Same Journal (Doc ID 2296416.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 21, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion General Ledger Cloud Service - Version 11.1.11.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On :  11.1.11.1.0 version, Capture Transactions-Define Allocations and Period Entries

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
When running General Allocation the allocation formula works for certain cases but not for all. In this case the user has setup allocation formulas that will distribute in different percentages per Market (a COA segment). The allocation formula has 14 formula blocks each one managing a specific group or Market sets (f.e. all the ones that are under 7000, or 8100, etc).

When creating a Journal which uses 2 different Market groups (f.e. 8600 and 7000) the allocation distributes properly just for one of the Market (f.e.  7000)

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The allocation rule should distribute on any Market used in a journal, not just one of them.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Setup and allocation rule (LT Allocate bumkt1) that has 14 formula blocks each one managing a specific group or Market sets (f.e. all the ones that are under 7000, or 8100, etc). The only difference between formula blocks are the distribution percentage between the accounts under the group of Market values.   The allocation journal will use the 021 entity as an offset
2. Validate and Deploy the rule.
3. Create a Journal that uses 2 Market values that belong to a different group (f.e. 8600 and 7000)
4. Post the journal
5. Run General Allocation using the LT Allocate bumkt1 rule.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot allocate as needed having journals with different Market Values

Other Facts:
- It is a new rule that has never worked when combining market values.
- It was verified that for the market and account combination that allocation journals were not generated, the POV is not excluding this line.
