Error: "Unable to save changes. An unknown error has occurred." When Attempting to Save Changes of Deleted Projects Containing 20K+ Activities in P6 Web (Doc ID 2347939.1)

When attempting to delete project(s) that contains 20K activities or more, the application hangs for 2 minutes and then fails with the following error message:

Unable to save changes.

An unknown error has occurred.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to P6 Web
  2. Drill-down to a large project
  3. Right-click, delete
  4. Project will disappear in the application
  5. Another message appears to save changes, select Save
  6. After 2 minutes, the error appears
