Error: "Unable to save changes. An unknown error has occurred." When Attempting to Save Changes of Deleted Projects Containing 20K+ Activities in P6 Web

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When attempting to delete project(s) that contains 20K activities or more, the application hangs for 2 minutes and then fails with the following error message:
Unable to save changes.
An unknown error has occurred.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Login to P6 Web
- Drill-down to a large project
- Right-click, delete
- Project will disappear in the application
- Another message appears to save changes, select Save
- After 2 minutes, the error appears
