Symptoms
When attempting to setup Dead Connection Detection (DCD) between Oracle Cloud environments - such as between an Oracle Compute Cloud Classic and an Exadata Cloud Service running a Database Service - please note that both Ingress and Egress rules must be used for the client connections side on the Compute environment:
- Egress to send client traffic to the Database Server on ExaCS
- Ingress to receive the DCD packet from the Database Server on ExaCS
