If a Database backup from the OCI console gets stuck, that could be because of various reasons.
There are various scenarios in which the backup job can fail, resulting in the database status in the console stuck in an “Updating” status.
Taking a Database backup from the OCI console or using API is called a Managed Database Backup.
There are broadly two reasons for an automatic backup to fail.
Object Store not accessible from the Host
Host/Database issues causing backup to fail
