Can Groovy scripts be used in Payables module to update sub account DFF of Invoice distributions ?

We have a requirement of updating sub account DFF from distribution code combination id field in invoice distributions screen.
This is a challenge because it cant be done dynamically as oracle SR has confirmed that there are no bind variables in payables.
So we want to know if this can be done with groovy script.
