Error 'Table limit reached for "SUMTRSRC" table' in the Summarization Log File for a 'Failed' or 'Completed with Errors' P6 Summarization Job (Doc ID 2422377.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to run a Summarization job, users receive a message which states "Project Summarization has failed" with a link to view the summarization log for more detail.  In the associated log file for the job, the following error message occurs:

Table limit reached for "SUMTRSRC" table. Please contact administrator for Summarization record maintenance

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to P6.
  2. Click the Projects link.
  3. Attempt to summarize some projects.
  4. Note the reported error.
