Error "SEVERE: NULL JAVA.LANG.NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION" Occurs When Importing XML Through P6 Web (Doc ID 2445544.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to import a project's XML file using P6 web, the following error occurs.

XML import of Project "<$projectname>" initiated.
EPS (<$projectID>) matched by <$projectID> from XML
Unresolved reference null on Project.

SEVERE: null
java.lang.NullPointerException
at
com.primavera.bo.remotable.SpecialQueryHelper.markProjectAsOpened(SpecialQuery
Helper.java:1340)

 

The issue can be reproduced at will using the following steps:

   1. Login P6 web
   2. Import Primavera XML file
   3. Changed the following template

   a. for the template, Global data, changed Project Codes and Values to "Do Not Import"
   b. for the template, Global data, Location also kept "Do Not Import", all others used keep existing
   c. for the template, Project data, Project Calendars changed to keep Existing, all others used 'Update Existing'
