Symptoms
There are no Business Unit criteria for the Participant Assignment Rules.
Roles created in one business unit is being assigned to a participant who belongs to a different business unit.
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create Roles
Participant Assignments > Manage Roles > Create
a. Role BU1
b. Role BU2
2. Create participant assignment rule
Participant Assignment > Manage Participant Assignment Rules
Note: The rule is associated to a business unit
RoleAssingment BU1 ( created with Business Unit = BU1)
Qualifying Criteria : Cost Center = CC
Assignment : Role = Role BU1
RoleAssingment BU2 ( created with Business Unit = BU2)
Qualifying Criteria : Cost Center = CC
Assignment : Role = Role BU2
3. Assign Comp Plans to Roles
Participant Assignment > Manage Compensation Plans > Role Assignments
Business Unit Comp Plan Role
BU1 2017 Comp Plan BU1 Role BU1
BU2 2017 Comp Plan BU2 Role BU2
4. Update Participant Details with Cost Center = CC value
Participant Snapshot > Select participant > Manage Participant Details
a. Participant = Rep1 in Business Unit = BU1, Cost Center = CC
b. Participant = Rep2 in Business Unit = BU2, Cost Center = CC
5. Run All Participant Processes ( Assign Participant only )
6. Verify Role Assignment
Participant Snapshot > Select participant ( Rep1)
a. Manage Participant Details > Role Assignments ... see both roles ( Role BU1 and Role BU2 )
b. Manage Compensation Plans ... see only one compensation plan assigned via correct role for the business unit BU1
