OAC-C: Secure communication between LBaaS and BI Server (Doc ID 2499560.1)

Last updated on JULY 17, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Analytics Cloud - Classic - Version 17.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On: Oracle Analytic Cloud-Customer

For OAC-C instances that integrated with IDCS, certificates that protect the connection between clients and the load balancer are automatically managed by Oracle.

But there is another way of communication which is between the load balancer (LBaaS) and the BI Server. In that, in standard OAC-C+IDCS configuration, one message has been observed saying - "This communication is not secured".

So, here are the Queries:

1. If this communication is on the Public Internet (and requirement is to secure this communication), is it true that currently it is not protected?

2. And if this is the case, is the certificate required to protect it managed by Oracle (in that case why it seems not to be that way now?) or has the customer to acquire an additional, trusted, certificate?
3. In that case, what is the procedure to install it and what values should be used for IP, CN and Organization?
