Symptoms

On : 11.13.19.01.0 version, Capture Transactions-Approve Journals

When attempting to approve a journal, the following error occurs.

ERROR

BPM Task shows error:
The supervisor or Job level does not exist. (FUN-720337)
Cause: The list builder used in the configuration of approval rule is not coherent with the HCM Supervisory or Job level hierarchy
Action: Correct the list builder definition in approval rules or HCM employee supervisory hierarchy or Job level hierarchy.
Details shows: ORABPEL-30082 Business Fault:null

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Have an active journal approval rule in an enabled participant as:
MangeApprovalRule
Journal Batch Ledger.Ledger Enabled for Journal Approvals Indicator is "Y"
Supervisory
Response Type = Required
Number of levels = 1
Starting Participant = HierarchyBuilder.getManager("supervisory",Task.Creator,-1,"","")
Top Participant = HierarchyBuilder.getPrincipal("FINUSER30",-1,"","")
Auto Action Enabled = False
Auto Action = null
Rule Name = "ManagerApprovalRule"
Dimension Id = null

2. Have the rule deployed
3. Create a journal for a ledger and source that have approval enabled.


BUSINESS IMPACT

Due to this issue, users cannot approve journals, feature very much needed for daily processing.
