Oracle BPEL Process - No Exception Raised For JTA Timeout Rollback

For a MaxWaitTime setup at WebLogic Server level, whenever a DB Adapter is called from a BPEL composite, and if the processing time is taking more than the MaxWaitTime setup, the BPEL flow is erroring out with TimedOutException.
However, it does not seem possible to catch this exception in any of the CATCH / CATCH ALL blocks.
Please confirm if this is expected behavior, and how can the timeout fault be caught.
