Unable to Get Internal Yum Repositories on OCI Instances while Using Private Subnet. (Doc ID 2541228.1)

Symptoms

While using an OCI instance on Private-Subnet ONLY (no access to internet allowed) one can not connect to the Internal Oracle Yum Repositories provided by the Region even though they are internal Repositories.

Once this is tried, the following error can be seen.

 

$ yum repolist
Loaded plugins: langpacks, ulninfo
http://yum-iad.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL7/UEKR5/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 12] Timeout on http://yum-iad.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL7/UEKR5/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: (28, 'Connection timed out after 30001 milliseconds')
Trying other mirror.
