Symptoms

Trying to configure backup for database PRODDB failing with error

Following documentation on https://docs.cloud.oracle.com/iaas/Content/Database/Tasks/exabackingupBKUPAPI.htm

The step 5 fails with the error:  ERROR: Error: corereg: Multiple registry files found in registry location /var/opt/oracle/creg

Step 5: Use the following command to install the backup configuration, configure the credentials, schedule the backup, and associate the configuration with a database name.


[bkup]# ./bkup -cfg PRODDB_bkup.cfg --dbname=PRODDB

Changes

 Exadata environment migration was done from OCI Classic to OCI.

 This database was created using cloud console.

 The method to configure automatic backups from console was not attempted.
