Symptoms
RPLS 'Match Factor' is different between 'Forward' And forward in 'Both' Match Direction, when using 'Exclusion Words'.
For all parties where the matched denied party has excluded words it is causing the match factor calculation to change between 'Forward' only match direction and forward calculation in 'Both' match direction.
This is causing some of the matches using Forward only to drop off when using 'Both' preference.
- When the direction is only forward parameter the excluded words are removed from the actual Party Name only and then the match factor is calculated for forward match.
- When the direction is both, the excluded words are removed from the actual Party Name and the Denied Party Name and then the match factor is calculated for forward match.
- Hence, for all parties where the matched denied party name has one of our excluded words it is causing the match factor calculation to change between Forward only preference and forward calculation for Both preference. This is causing some of the matches using Forward only to drop off when using Both.
EXAMPLE:
-----------
Excluded words: AND
Party Details: Company Name: ABC LAND ENGINEERING ; Country: USA
Service Parameters: nameCompany and Country
When you keep the excluded words "AND" for denied party (XYZ OIL AND GAS ENERGY ENGINEERING COMPANY), is evaluated in both as "XYZ OIL GAS ENERGY ENGINEERING COMPANY", then match factor for forward is dropping to 0.76 (below your threshold 0.81).
But for forward only the denied party is evaluated as "XYZ OIL AND GAS ENERGY ENGINEERING COMPANY" hence the calculation is matching "AND with LAND" is resulting in increased factor of 0.86 (above 0.81).
