Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

JCS backup is failing with following error:

An Oracle Storage Cloud Service container is configured...Some files located under the domain home volume do not have read permissions for oracle user on "service name" and will prevent backup from capturing those. See more details under /u01/data/backup/logs/domain_home_read_permission_check_instance.log. Log in to the VM and use operating system commands to allow read access to the files at the path /u01/data/domains.Then start the backup again. Until this problem is resolved, the instance cannot be backed up and other operations that require a backup, such as patching, will also fail...Unable to start backup ...

PSM-BKP-50207: Failure code: 261,JCS-BR-ERROR_FILE_PERMISSION.
