Symptoms
APEX has been successfully installed and is running in the database.
When trying to enable a schema for REST in SQL Workshop > RESTful Services, the request fails with the following error:
Unable to enable schema for ORDS RESTful services.
ORA-20024: REST enablement for maintained schema disallowed : <SCHEMA>
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Enter by APEX
2. Enter through SQL Workshop
3. Login to RESTful Services
4. Click on Register Schema with ORDS
5. Enter Information
6. Save Schema
The same error occurs when trying to enable the schema from the SQL Developer interface.
Business Impact
Due to this issue, it is not possible to create ORDS based REST services against objects in this schema.
In this case, the customer following the instructions documented in: <Note 2568812.1> - Latin America Cloud Local Solutions (LACLS) - Installation and Maintenance Notes, and the schema name is LACLS. However, the error can happen with any schema.
