Goal
Management Reporting Cell Properties allows defining a Scale Factor to be applied to the value displayed in the cell. Defining a formula row to apply the ROUND function and then applying a scale factor in the cell properties of the ROUND-ed value can give unexpected results. For the example below:
- The actual data value returned is 1,559,407.6683.
- A scale factor of Thousands is specified in the cell properties for the original value and the rounded value.
- Cell properties for both cells specify display 4 decimal places
This results is a value 1,599.4077 being displayed for the data value. The expected value rounded to 2 decimal places is 1,599.4100.
In actuality, ROUND is applied to the underlyingl un-scaled value (1,559,407.6683) yielding a rounded value of 1,559,407.67. After the cell scale factor and decimal display settings are applied, a value of 1,559.4077 is displayed.
