Applies to:
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
OCI instances lose network connectivity every 24 hours, by default when the dhclient is started it runs for 24 hours, that is the lease time this means 86400s when this period expires it is not able to renew it again as a result the IP is not assigned to the interface and network is lost.
In order to recover the network connection for another 24 hours, the instance needs to be rebooted or the dhclient service needs to be killed and started.
This is the lease time for dhclient.
Changes
There were some additional ifcfg-x files added on the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ directory which are not part of the original configuration for OCI.
