Action "Classify Item" Results in java.lang.NullPointer Exception Please Try Again Later (Doc ID 2664948.1)

Symptoms

When trying to use the Action "Classify Item" the result is a  "java.lang.NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION. Please Try Again Later."

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Navigation > Master Data > Items > Actions > Classify Item

2. Select Item

3. Click on Actions > Classify Item.

4. Result : "java.lang.NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION. Please Try Again Later."
