Goal

In a multi-channeled Retail Integration Bus (RIB) environment, is there a provision to control which channel/thread a message should go to?

In general, users can publish the messages via RIB-EXT component. For high volume interfaces, if multi-channel has been enabled, RIB decides the channel/thread number and corresponding adapter gets the message. Instead of that, user would like to have a provision to control selected messages to specific channel. It can be a variable/parameter additionally passed on while publishing out from end users custom layer to RIB-EXT. Based on the business process, they can decide which messages should go to which channel/thread?

Justification: For example, shipments are published for a given distribution center (DC) to multiple stores at the same time and it can have common items. With multi-channeling, some messages having same DC/Items are getting locked and failing in RIB. When message size is big, it takes time to process and increases the chance of lock. If there is a provision to decide which channel to publish, users can control it by publishing same DC to same Channel.
