GetOriginalAttributeValue Is Not Working For A DCL Field (Doc ID 2695699.1)

Goal

Customer has a DCL field named DCL_Name_c on opportunity object.
In their groovy script they are trying to get the old value of this field using the function getOriginalAttributeValue.
However, for this particular field the function is always giving the new value and not the old one.
