P6 Professional Hangs/Freezes When Refreshing the WBS Activities Tab (Doc ID 2705955.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

When attempting to refresh the WBS Activities tab after moving or editing nodes in P6 Professional (both CloudConnect and Primavera Virtual Desktop (PVD)), the application goes into a "Not Responding" state and cannot be recovered.  The only option is to kill the process via Task Manager.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

The refresh should complete within a short time and return control of the application to the user.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login into P6 Professional, either the local client using the CloudConnect driver or via PVD.
  2. Modify or move a WBS node.
  3. Refresh the panel using the F5 key.
  4. Observe the reported issue.
