How to Improve updateOrder Performance while External Webhooks Configured (Doc ID 2712419.1)

Goal

Every time when updateOrder is called, items may be repriced, tax and shipping charges will also be recalculated. There are several external webhooks available that may be configured and called during order update such as:

External Price Validation

External Tax Calculation

External Promotion

etc.

If any of such external call or multiple such calls are configured, and each of the calls takes up quite some time, updateOrder may take long time. This article is to outline possible performance improvement on updateOrder.
