MileMaker External Distance Engine Parameter SAME_SOURCE_DEST_DIST Not Being Used for Locations With Same Geography (Doc ID 2725785.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 03, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management Cloud Service - Version 20.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An External Distance Engine is configured to connect to MileMaker (using Webservices). This EDE includes the parameter: SAME_SOURCE_DEST_DIST

If this is used to do a distance lookup with two locations that share the same geography, it was expected to return the value for the SAME_SOURCE_DEST_DIST. Instead it is actually calling MileMaker and therefore returning a value of 0.

The HELP Topic:"External Distance/Service Engine and Map Parameters" says:

"If both the source and destination locations are the same, the distance specified in this parameter will be returned without the EDE ever being called."
