Symptoms

 Smartview Private Connection fails to connect to EPM Planning.

 

Error:

  Cannot connect to the provider. Make sure it is running in the specified host/port. Error(404).

Changes

 Using Essbase connection to Planning Module using http://server/aps/SmartView   This is not supported in EPM Planning module and support was removed in patch 21.04.
