CTI: Remove A Digit From Contact Phone Number (Doc ID 2770499.1)

Goal

Customer is using CTI Toolbar. 3rd party vendor shares the number as 01234567899 for local incoming calls from their region.
Although 1234567899 is an existing contact's phone number, no results are fetched upon search from contact search page
Is there any way to fetch the result(contact) when 01234567899 is passed to search or any way to remove 0 and then fetch the contact associated with the number.
