OMC:Is It Possible To Have Maintenance Window Apply Only To Specific Alerts For An Entity ? (Doc ID 2789372.1)

Last updated on MAY 24, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Management Cloud - Version N/A to N/A [Release 1.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The maintenance window setting will suppress all alert notifications for the specified entities.

Is it possible to configure an alert notification suppression period for only specific alerts ?

For example: An alert rule that applies to all Host (Windows) has a condition for CPU Utilization (%) > 85 (warning) and > 95 critical, with a 60 minute period threshold. So an alert notification is generated if CPU sits at 100% for longer than 60 minutes. If there is a Host known to run a CPU-intensive backup process at various times which will hold CPU usage at 100% for hours. Generating alerts for the specific host is not needed. Hence need to suppress CPU alert notifications for this host within the scheduled task periods, while also keeping all other alert notifications active.
The maintenance window function suppresses all alert notifications.
