Symptoms
When attempting to load Data Model in BI Publisher, the following error occurs:
ERROR

"Could not able to parse datamodel xml, it is either corrupted or not valid"
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Navigate to Reports & Analytics
- Click Browse Catalog - expand Shared Folders - expand Enterprise Contract
- Select Contract Printing - for Contract Preview Sample Data Model select Edit
- Click on 'Data' tab > Click on 'View'
- The reported error occurs
