OdiStartScen Executions Result in Intermittent "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out" (Doc ID 2833739.1)

Symptoms

In Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.4, a series of sessions that launch many scenarios in a short period of time with OdiStartScen (for example, dozens within a few minutes) intermittently has one or more fail with a SocketTimeout errors.

The command is set up in "asynchronous" mode, meaning that the initiating Agent A starts the scenario and the calling task does NOT wait for the executing Agent B to finish the job before returning and continuing on.

Changes

The ODI environment may have been recently installed as or upgraded to ODI 12.2.1.4. Unpublished Bug 28744218, which was related to timeouts not taking effect, was resolved in 12.2.1.4.
