Error "A server exception occured while trying to perform username token authentication" When Testing the P6 Provider Connection in Primavera Gateway (Doc ID 2848865.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to test the P6 deployment in Primavera Gateway, one of the following errors occurs.

Error in Connection. Verify connection parameters and try again.
The response was: Connection unsuccessful, Please verify the API configuration. A server exception occured while trying to perform username token authentication

OR

com.oracle.pgbu.pdi.provider.ProviderException: A server exception occured while trying to perform username token authentication: Authentication to IDCS Failed for <USERNAME>

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. In Primavera Gateway, navigate to P6 Provider.
  2. Edit the P6 Provider setting.
  3. Click Test Connection.
  4. The reported error occurs.
