Need Help With Site Redirects (Doc ID 2852499.1)

Goal

When using a vanity URL via Akamai to a site such as www.example.com, a redirect can be set up so when a user enters example.com you would see that this auto redirects the user to www.example.com, but if you manually enter a full address to a file, which already has https://example.com/filename.extention, this would not work, it keeps loading endlessly.  Manually adding www would allow the file to download.  How can a full redirect like this be implemented?
