Unable to Select and Save Custom Accounting Method from Specify Ledger Options (Doc ID 2858912.1)

Symptoms

Custom accounting method created by users are visible from Manage Accounting Methods. However, when users tried to select this method for a ledger from Specify Ledger Options, it was not getting saved. 
Also from GL_LEDGERS table, the accounting method attached to the specific ledger showed to be Standard Accrual
