FA:SCM:PIM - 22A Regression - Unable to Update the Category Assignment of an Item When Changing the Assignment To a New Category With a Different Start Date (Doc ID 2860652.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to update the category assignment for an item, where the new category the item is being assigned to has a different start date than the previous category, the following error message will be displayed:

 

You must enter a start date that's on or after DD/MM/YY HH:MM

Error: You must enter an end date that's on or before the category end date in item category assignments. (EGP-2776112)

 

STEPS

-----------------------

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Product Information Management

2. Manage Items

3. Search for an Item

4. Open the edit item page for ITEM_A , Navigate to Categories tab.

5. Reassign the category from CAT_1 to CAT_2. Observe the start date did not change to a future date even if CAT_2 has a future start date. It retains the previous value for start date.

6. Try to save the item. Now the valid start date validation will be triggered as the start date is not valid.
