Symptoms
On an OCI Compute Instance, the customer intends to extend the application filesystem (as per OCI Documentation, chapter "Resizing a Volume") because it is full and is seeing the below error in parted:
(parted) mkpart
File system type? [ext2]? xfs
Start? 0s
End? 100%
Error: Too many primary partitions.
