INVALID ITEM Error While Posting Sales of NMITEM which doesn't exists in ITEM_MASTER (Doc ID 2873688.1)

Symptoms

When posting a sale transaction via the Sales API with item number type = 'NMITEM' (Non-merchandise item),

In the ReSA UI, adding a non-existing item as a non-merchandise item is allowed and is saved in the tables without any issues


Steps to recreate :

  1. Create a sale transaction payload for the Sales API.
  2. Under the Items section, set ItemType as NMITEM and put the same item used in ReSA UI testing.
  3. Populate the rest of the required fields as needed.
  4. Notice how it encounters the error "Invalid Item".
