Symptoms

When attempting to evaluate a life event for an employee, the following error occurs:

ERROR
-----------------------
The payroll relationship or the assignment identifier XXXXXXXXXXXXX is
invalid for the element XYZ. (PAY-1635919)
Check if the person has a payroll relationship record. You would also get
this message if you're trying to create an assignment level entry, but have
provided a payroll relationship ID or vice versa. In such a case, check if
the identifier XXXXXXXXXXXXX corresponds with the element type.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to Benefits Administration > Enrollment.
2. Search for and select the employee in question.
3. Attempt to evaluate the latest life event.
Error occurs.
