Unable To Access External REST Service Due To CORS Error (Doc ID 2897101.1)

Just completed deploying a new  environment.

As part of this deployment, attempting to confirm some REST integrations between a VBCS web application and a REST service.

Getting a CORS error. The console log of the activity shows the following error:

Access to Fetch at '<SERVICE _URL>' from origin '<VISUAL BUILDER HOST>' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. If an opaque response serves your needs, set the request's mode to no-cors to fetch the resource with CORS disabled.

Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FAILED

Tried all the available options for Connection Type on the service connection and none work.
