Symptoms

Custom Alert failing to trigger email notifications

Error captured in the Alert history.

ERROR

oracle.jbo.JboException: getting more than 100 nodes With current group by expression, which is not supported <EMAIL>. please modify the group by expression
at oracle.apps.hcm.common.core.alerts.processing.utils.MessageProcessor.execute(MessageProcessor.java:320)
at oracle.apps.ess.hcm.common.core.alerts.program.HcmResourceAlertMessageBuilder.execute(HcmResourceAlertMessageBuilder.java:156)
at oracle.apps.fnd.applcp.request.exec.AsyncExecutableWrapper.executeHelper(AsyncExecutableWrapper.java:164)
at oracle.apps.fnd.applcp.request.exec.ExecWrapperBase.execute(ExecWrapperBase.java:178)


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Tools > Alert Composer > Open custom Alert > Alert History
2. See Error
3. View Log for error message
