Runtime Exception Error In Configurator. (Doc ID 2922349.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to configure a model, the configuration layout will not render and the following error will be shown along the top of the page

A RuntimeException has occurred.

The error in the bm.log will be:

[ERROR] com.bm.xchange.rest.exceptions.BMSystemExceptionHandler.toResponse(BMSystemExceptionHandler.java:48) - System exception
com.bm.xchange.services.scripts.bmjscript.BMJScriptSystemException: A RuntimeException has occurred.
at com.bm.xchange.bmscript.configuration.action.ConfigRuleAction_245577836.exec(ConfigRuleAction_245577836.java:81) ~[?:?]

Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.bm.xchange.services.scripts.bmjscript.compiler.StandardScriptFunctions.substring(StandardScriptFunctions.java:382) ~[classes/:?]
at com.bm.xchange.bmscript.configuration.action.ConfigRuleAction_245577836.exec(ConfigRuleAction_245577836.java:62) ~[?:?]
