Error "Unable to resolve privileged username and password / Error opening connection to db with connection string" When Switching from the Authentication Tab to the Configuration Tab in the P6 Admininistrator Application (Doc ID 2928381.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to switch from the Authentication tab to the Configuration tab in the P6 Administrator application, the following error occurs.

Unable to resolve privileged username and password Error opening connection to db with connection string: jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcps)(HOST=<server name or IP address>)(PORT=<database port>))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=<Service Name/SID>))) and properties {oracle.net.ssl_cipher_suites=(<list of cypher suites>), user=pubuser, v$session.process=#####, v$session.program=P6WebApp-PrivUserResolver-TR}


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Access the P6 Administrator application by navigating to the <P6 EPPM home>\p6 directory (ex. C:\P6EPPM_1\p6) and launching adminpv.cmd.
  2. Login with the privileged schema user (default privuser) credentials.
  3. Select the Authentication tab.
  4. Configure LDAP Authentication with SSL.
  5. Switch back to the Configuration tab.
  6. The reported error occurs.
