Goal
The purpose of this document is to guide in the creation of a baseline desktop pool, the simplest and most reliable desktop pool for ensuring that the tenancy being used is capable of hosting desktop pools. As such, it is most useful if this is undertaken before attempts are made to create production desktop pools.
This baseline pool is limited in its functionality. Its purpose is to test the creation of pools and pool user access, including the ability to launch desktops. For these purposes we are choosing to disable any feature of the baseline pool that is not required for these tests. After successful creation of a baseline pool we know that the tenancy is set up properly and any issues with other desktop pools is likely to be caused by differences between this baseline desktop pool and the pool with the problem. This could greatly speed up resolution of issues encountered when creating other pools.
