Error faced while trying to translate custom text for French Language

While writing EL Expression for translation of customized text in French Language,  users are facing the following error:

Error: Error in Expression. Expression not getting saved.




STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1.Submit Resignation > When is the resignation date relabeled as Last Contracted Employment
date > Need to translate this in languages "French"
The EL Expression is working fine for all other languages except French.
