Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

How to prevent the Asset Register Report XML to Excel removing preceding Zeroes to the Asset Number?

Business case:
The business has 2 environments and the removal of the zeroes to the left happen on one of the environments only

Steps:
1. Schedule Processes > Run Asset Register
2. Download xml file from outpout
3. Open File in excel

Other Facts:

Both XLM files has the same raw data f.e. <ASSET_NUMBER>000000010006 but when opening in excel dev2 XML shows Asset number as a Text formatted and keeps the zeroes to the left for that reason, whereas from the dev5 XML is loaded as a number and as such the zeroes are removed, I can add decimals. Is the data format causing the formatting in excel.
