Accrual plans permit eligible employees to accrue PTO (paid time off) each period as they work, to use for vacation or sick leave.
This detail get stored in the table ANC_PER_ACRL_ENTRY_DTLS.
If the balance calculation date is 31/05/2023 this means the accrual has been already run up to 31/05/2023 and the record has been available in the table ANC_PER_ACRL_ENTRY_DTLS.
So what is project accrual?
Projected accrual means what is the eligible employees is going to accrue PTO for the next period beyond the balance calculation date. In simple term future period accrue (In this example June, July, August 2023 and so on).
