What count should be sent in REF_NO_1 for DCLOSE using API

Wanted to clarify the REST based sales integration for DCLOSE, what is the count that should be sent for REF_NO_1?

 Is it transaction count - SA_STORE_DAY.TRANSACTIONS_LOADED? or the number of API hits - SA_STORE_DAY.FILES_LOADED?
