OCI Block Storage - Cannot Extend the Partitition for a Boot Volume with DISKPART Utility (Doc ID 2954810.1)

Symptoms

When resizing a Boot Volume for a Windows Instance, once we have increased the Boot Volume size using the OCI Console, we will also need to rescan the disk and extend the partition for this instance.

Once we have rescanned the disk, the next step would be to extend the system partition. We can achieve this by using the command line with DISKPART.

When running the following command:

This error message could appear even though we correctly converted the size from GB to MB and entered the right value.
