Error "ORA-00959: tablespace 'PMDB_PX_DAT1' does not exist" When Attempting to Migrate a PPM (P6 Professional) Database Schema to an EPPM Schema (Doc ID 2956153.1)

Symptoms

When running the migrate.bat utility to convert a PPM (P6 Professional) Database schema to an EPPM schema in a pluggable database instance, the following error occurs:

Error in Run SQL Script orppm_pm_migrate.sql : DatabaseToolException: ORA-00959: tablespace 'PMDB_PX_DAT1' does not exist)

 

The issue can be reproduced at will using the following steps:

  1. Create a new pluggable database instance to host the new EPPM schema.
  2. Connect to the instance as the system user and execute the following SQL command:
  3. When prompted to configure the Oracle Tablespaces for the target (EPPM) database, leave Use existing tablespaces unchecked so new ones will be created.
  4. When prompted to configure the PX Tablespace, leave Use existing tablespace unchecked and create a new one, then click Next.
  5. Observe the reported error.
