Problem Description:

When attempting to merge External Candidate with Ex-Employee and Selecting to RETAIN External Candidate Record in Duplicate Check and Candidate Merge, the following error occurs.

The candidate merge couldn't be completed. The candidate merge request is invalid. You can only merge valid candidate types. (IRC-1590545). (IRC-1590540)


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. My Client Groups >
2. Hiring >
3. Job Requisition > 
4. Search for the Applicant > 
5. Click on Actions >
6. Duplicate Check/Merge >
7. Merge Candidate with Ex-Employee Record>
8. Select “External candidate” check box and select continue >
9. Error Occurs
