OCI Secure Desktops: Windows VM Outside OCI Secure Desktops (Doc ID 2965719.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 11, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Secure Desktop - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

To validate a given Windows VM image can be successfully used as a base for a desktop pool in Oracle Secure Desktops.

The main feature we are interested in is the ability to access the image using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) as this is necessary for Oracle Secure Desktops.  We will test if the image accepts incoming RDP connections.

We want to validate that the custom image can be used for creating a Windows VM outside OCI Secure Desktops.

This document has information on how to create Windows VM outside OCI Secure Desktops using the custom image and how to connect to the Windows VM using console and RDP connection.

This will help us troubleshoot problems with the custom image, if there are failures in OCI Secure Desktops while creating Windows desktops pools or launching desktops and connecting to them using RDP.
